Supporting Telehealth

Rhode Islanders shouldn't be afraid to get care in these trying times.

Not much good has come out of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis we are living in; however, one positive thing that has happened is the increased use of  Telehealth to serve behavioral health clients. Prior to COVID, telemedicine was not used regularly or always paid for by insurance. Now, Telehealth has become an ongoing strategy for serving clients. Check out this Op-Ed in the Providence Journal from Director Power, BHDDH, on the benefits of Telehealth.

The Rhode Island Legislature has taken up the issue of continuing Telehealth options for behavioral health clients. An article has been included into the State Budget and we need to generate calls and emails to local Representatives and Senators to let them know how important continuing Telehealth options is to our clients.

Please contact your local legislators today!

Please take 5 minutes today to call or email your local state Representative and Senator to urge him/her to support the Budget Article in favor of Telehealth.
